Has anyone here started their season yet? We've got a few weeks more of preseason training and then we're getting into it. My bowling is getting quicker and quicker (and my body sorer and sorer!) and I'm really keen for the new season!
Accidentaly bowled a bouncer to a former Canterbury (domestic side here in NZ) opening bowler... Really hoping he doesn't try get me next week!

I have my last game on Sunday.
Test out the new helmet after I got a huge crack in the last one when hit in the side of the head by a beamer (tried to hook it, caught my arm (big bruise) and then broke the helmet) - oddly I batted for 5 more overs before I realised the reason the grill had gone wobbly was the hard plactic it connected to had a 3" long crack through it (as did the polystyrene).
Good job I was wearing it.
Hopefully I'm keeping again on Sunday... much prefer that job.

Damn, managed to hurt my leg somehow. Maybe in the jumping in my action or something but I couldn't bowl properly at all last training and my pace was way down. Hopefully a weeks rest will do it, if not I might have to miss a training... Have no idea now if the coach at my new club thinks I'm any good, what he's seen so far has been a severe mixed bag.

First game of the season yesterday, we rolled them for 68, I took 3 for 12 off 8.4 overs and also got to open the bowling which is nice as it was my first game for the club. Good to see my bowling swinging as much as ever, the ump actually asked me how I managed to swing it so much and still manage to bowl fairly quick! Our batsmen chased it down very nervously... we were 5 for 30 till a nice partnership took us home. At least I didn't have to bat!
Hopefully in a week or so I might get a chance to play in the division above.

Today was a bit weird. I opened the bowling on a really flat pitch but their bats were pretty solid and although we kept their RR low, I didn't take a wicket. Got so damn close with a inswinging yorker that missed by a coat of paint. Had another bowling spell later on, a few edges through slip and then I had a ball that actually slipped the stump and din't remove the bail. Sometimes it really isn't your day eh?
Did manage to score 33* batting at 9, but coming in at 130-7 chasing 285 was never going to happen. We did manage to break 200 though, small victories.

Back to 50 overs tomorrow, no more T20! Have been trying to make some major changes to my action and now everything is a mess! Hope it's for the best in the end.

Its been 3 months since i played Cricket last and the brake did me well. 3/23 from 8 overs, and scored 82(70). It was only a 40 over B Grade match mess around Thursday game, but hoping to take that form into this weekend's A Grade match.

We just had a tie in a two day game (2 innings per team). Crazy stuff!
