Now for my peny's worth. Regarding more activity on the forums? Totally agree, we need to be more involved, but at times there's much around to write about. Trust me, because I always post when there's something decent to talk about.
As fore the spinner not bowling before the 12th over, I've never really done any research in to that, but I totally listen to rob and always bowl my spinner spell 4 or 5.
The power thing I don't get, I thought the power pushes the skills up. But I think one of you said its not that useful, am I right in saying this?

O and as for Ash and FTP, I personally think he needs to do something else to make the game even more interesting, i've had friends who say to me its getting boring. Where as our main competitor Battrick are always coming up with new ideas, so I'm informed

I'd say battricks development rate is very slow (I still have a team there but don't really play it), making FTP's rate even now similar. Hopefully there will be something really quite different coming along soon, with compound commentary and a totally different match engine setup. 14.5 3 S. Cruz to L. Fabian Middle stump line at 45.4mph. Pushes at the ball, got that sweetly out of the middle and through the gap in the infield, fielder C. Efren, dives to keep it in, but a third taken as he collects.

R0b i have been thinking about what you said about power, (works on dotballs if i understood correctly)
Does that mean power at the death is no needed? for example a finisher with low power coming in at the death would be good cause the power wouldnt be needed and the talent would help also?
also all-rounders who come in for a bit of a bat at the death wouldnt need much power also?
(I atm don't put much power on finishers and i dont put no power on finger spin all-rounders who both come in at the death more often then not.)

Death makes little difference, power turns dots into 1.8s. power at the death will do the same, so more power = less dots. IF (and that's a big if) you get to a point where your death batsman faces no dot balls, then power would have gained him nothing.
I do suspect that in the last few overs the 1.8 runs per ball increases (though its hard to prove as so much else is going on by then), but given the single scoring table that Ash has admitted, maybe not and it's just wishful thinking.

Well i don't see many dot balls at the death unless im like 8-9 wickets down, also i play on hard pitches often and i also don't see many dot balls, so if power only effects dot balls and nothing else, then i think i will be ignoring power big time on alot of my batsmen, i will still of course have some power hitters. ATM i only have 2 power hitters and 1 with reliable power the rest low power and i still score quickly in T20 and SOD Another question is why does power effect T20 more the SOD if it only effects dot balls? is the 1.8 for SOD and a higher number for T20?

I'm still confused. Rob are you saying power isn't as important as we make it out to be? If that is the case then how come a bowlers over all summary goes up as his power improves? Actually that goes same for the batsman too. I never train my spinner's power. I know this is turning in to "ask rob" abit here lol but does it matter if you bowl your spinners at the death? I always avoid it for some reason.

We are talking about batsmen not bowlers, power heaps seam bowlers to bowl a faster delivery to take a wicket.
I don't look at summaries as they are misleading, i had a expert summary batsmen who went on to outstanding summary with good form, and he performed better then wc summary batsmen, he was out/spect with ordinary power and reliable experience, but he had the accumulator talent, and even when i was only pulling like 140-160k when i started i went up against teams over 200k in the PC or friendlies and that batsmen was never dismissed cheaply.
I think power is extremely over rated, i dont put any power on spinners (maybe reasonable-capable on a wristy if prims and fielding are already at the perfect lvl)
I wont go past reliable on my finisher, i wont go past average on my accumulator's and bh'ers.
I am looking for an accumulator atm after selling mine, and i will have a line-up like so...
seam spec high power accumulator low power skilled bat high power bh low power finisher low-med power keeper low power (hate highly over power on keepers the training time could be spent on higher fielding and keeping skills and get more out of performance IMO) though a keeper with accumulator or bh would be perfect (still looking)
then i want a high powered medium all-rounder (true all-rounder with expert batting) low powered finger spin true all-rounder
and another bowler who can bat a bit if that be a seamer with lots of power or spinner with no power...
Everytime i train a player in power i end up selling them cause there performance drops and the money you get in return cause people bid loads of cash on well rounded players is just to temping instead of keeping them...
I think i will be going to exceptional-WC fielding over high power on few of my batsmen. unless i can see the value in WC prims over exceptional.

I doubt you will, 8% batter for @10k wage. no thanks. I agree summaries are misleading to some extent, largely because they ignore talents and fielding etc, but I still think they ruined the decisions made in the game and variability in players.

A. Pickering 75 (54b) , D. Smiddie 73 (38b) pickering (BH) has average power, come in at over 33.3 Smiddie (finisher) has ordinary power, come in at 38.2 and hammered the bowlers on a hard pitch, who needs power, with those talents.

Hmmm i've always valued power, but if you assess it carefully surely the batsmen with the higher power make more runs. In my team players with the low power always mess up and get out early its only when they've hit reliable power do they start performing, kamal is the perfect example for me. I don't understand why low power on accumulators though?
I definitely don't train power for my spinners unless they can bat.

Accumulator and boundary hitter are identical in effect.
the reason power is helping "normal" batsmen is this reduces the dot balls, so they score faster, so suffer less pressure and hence get out less. But if the power is killing BH/acc triggers they might score slower and hence suffer more pressure. it's a design flaw from a single scoring table, I know why it works like that, 1 scoring table means it is very easy to calculate a SR expected within the ME... but it will have this kind of effect.

so your saying is you have a Accumulator or a boundary hitter your better off not bumping up the power?

I believe that training just about anything else will gain you more. My BH has dropped in SR and average since I trained him in power... level I play at is similar, there is some compensation in the fielding on the whole is better than it used to be.

I have always had an accumulator and/or BH and never have had more then average power, and they have been my best batsmen by far. (though the BH isnt doing as well as my previous BH/accumulator batsmen, but his outstanding skills expert summary is still up there with the exceptional/wc summary batsmen.) I have changed my plans a little now i see power is less useful on talented players... I plan to find a keeper with BH or accumulator and just pump his keeping and fielding skills alot more and ignoring power all together... I also plan to ignore power on my finisher and BH i currently have which will mean they will be guns in everything else. So wish i could find a gun accumulator 20-23yr old
