We played Ireland in the first game yesterday and won relatively easily. We lost the toss and were asked to bowl first. Our bowlers took us to a rollicking start, as the opponents were 58-6 in the 21st over. However we managed to pick up only 1 wicket after that and they had a score of 189 to defend. Copeland and Hasan picked up 2 wickets each.
Our chase was off to a horrible start, as we lost Habib on the first ball of our innings and soon were 53-3. Two good partnerships, Jaber & Sam and Sam & Ali, saw us home safely.

Today's game was another roaring success, UAE U19 won by 8 wickets. N. Mahmoud's 4/41 performance, ending the only good partnership they had and then clearing the tail in the last over, was good. But, probably the match winning performance was from S. Abba, the keeper-batsman's 90 not out the key innings of the match, even if his keeping left a bit to be desired.

So we beat Bangladesh as well. We now have to win one of our 2 last games to ensure that we do get promoted. Our final two matches are against Kenya and NZ. Both these teams are also in contention for promotion. Its gonna be an exciting last 2 days.

technically, we could win one and still not promote... our NRR isn't especially hot and the 2 teams with only 1 defeat are the 2 we still need to play.
Kenya in particular are a threat.

UAE have 12 points while Kenya and NZ have 8 points each. If we win one we reach 14 points. Even if one of the other team wins both its matches, they would finish with 12 points. Not sure why u say that we could win and not promote...

because you get four points for the win, not 2!
it's stupid, for some reason the "unit" of points in the FTP leagues is 2 and not 1.

Bad luck guys. Great start to the tour but we just couldn't get home in the end. Our MRs are right up there with the best of them though.

Disappointing end to a good run. Nevertheless impressed with how we played.
